HISTORY

Although the Destiny Series began in May 2006, the design work that eventually led up to the series began wayback before it was even concieved, take a look here as I chronicle the series development history.

Beginning with Fan-Fiction

In 2003 I began writing my first Star Trek Fan-Fiction Series, focusing on the after events of the Star Trek: Nemesis movie, which was designed to follow from where the movie left off, with Negotiations with the Romulans, originally it was titled Star Trek: Challenger and was designed as a Movie with a subsequent series. This was then dropped and I went with just a series renaming it to Star Trek: Renegade, following the adventures of the Starship Renegade. This was the first story to introduce Captain Mark Strider.

Creating my own Universe

In 2005 I had placed my fan-fiction work on hold and began developing my own universe and series. The 'Scavenger' Series was the outcome, set in the distant future on board a salvage vessel and its two recovery craft called Scavengers. The general idea was that the salvaging would take them to various places collecting salvage and the dangers that they come across (The name Strider reappeared in this series but not as a Captain)

Enter "The Movies"

In May 2006 I entered The Movies Online community and decided I would make a series from there. Originally the series was going to be titled 'Destiny' but that seemed too common, so E.D.S. was added to the beginning, (three episodes into season 1, I decided on what it stood for.) The Series is set in the same universe as the 'Scavenger' Series but in an earlier time frame (this is like a prequel series) I later went on to incoperate the 'Renegade' and 'Captain Strider' from the Star Trek Fan series, along with their related storyline, and these were grafted into the series (they get cameo roles in the early seasons).

Reboot

In the Middle of 2008, the series had reached a grinding halt with production falling into disarray, as I took a grasp and designing my own sets and props, along with full scripts and Voice Artists to play the roles. The Series Stumbled and I decided to stop, step back and take a breather.

Rebooting the series became a logical option as I had planned to go back and remaster the first Season but I so doing could only change a certain amount as to avoid breaking the Continuity with the second season. Rebooting allowed my to break continuity and start the series afresh with all the new ideas that could have been included originally

The Pilot episode for the Rebooted series is penned in for 2009.
